Netflix Releases More Details About Stranger Things Season 4

April 1, 2022 | Benjamin Carpenter

Fans of Stranger Things have had to wait longer than usual for the fourth season. Traditionally, Stranger Things seasons take one to two years to produce and release; however, the fourth season has taken close to three years to produce due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finally, Netflix has slated the fourth season of Stranger Things to be released on May 27th, 2022. The details regarding the fourth season have been kept under wraps, with the Duffer Brothers only revealing that the new season will be “horror-heavy”. However, Netflix has released nine first-look images that give fans a sneak peek into the upcoming season.

From the teaser trailer, we know that Eleven will be attending high school with Will Byers. We also know that Eleven plans to meet up with Mike Wheeler for spring break in which she says, “We will have the best spring break ever.” Of course, that hardly seems like the case.

The nine images Netflix released provide us with a few more hints to what the season will be about. From the images, there are two more additions to our ragtag group of teenagers: Eduardo Franco as Argyle and Joseph Quinn as Eddie Munson.

Fans will be relieved to see that Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is alive with a bald head and an unkempt appearance.

Another image shows Joyce Meyer (Winona Ryder) and Murray (Brett Gelman) standing in a snowy field with a crashed plane behind them. It’s clear that the season will take place in various places from golden California back to Hawkins, Indiana.

The remaining images show the core group in the midst of the typical bizarre plans we have seen them come up with to discover the truth of what’s going on.

Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time — and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”
